He also held senior managing director roles leading Sustainability Services and Strategy & Consulting across the Growth Markets platform, where he led strategy and sustainability programs embedding technology as a driver of enterprise reinvention and supported system-level energy transition design in emerging markets, including coal-to-renewables pathways, transmission and interconnections, and energy storage.
His work has applied system-value frameworks to assess reliability, cost, emissions, and employment, shaping country-specific energy transition strategies and broader enterprise transformation agendas. Now based in Singapore, he holds investor, senior advisory, and non-executive board roles focused on growth-market transformation and decarbonization.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Valentín most recently served as Chief Strategy Officer for Accenture Growth Markets. In this capacity, he oversaw regional strategy agendas linking technology deployment with sustainability outcomes while advising leadership teams on strategy execution and large-scale transformation in complex markets.
He led advisory programs on coal phase-down, renewable integration, and system flexibility, combining policy, financing, and infrastructure planning to accelerate commercially viable transition pathways, including hydrogen, alternative fuels, and carbon management.
During this tenure, he also held senior managing director roles leading Sustainability Services and Strategy & Consulting for Accenture Growth Markets, where he led initiatives addressing the gap between long-term sustainability value and short-term financial metrics. This work included advancing measurement frameworks, operating models, and stakeholder alignment, as well as developing blended-finance structures, project pipelines, and public–private coalitions to support demand-led energy transition in markets with rapid load growth and uneven infrastructure.
As a core component of his leadership at Accenture, he advanced demand-led transition frameworks emphasizing cross-sector collaboration, just transition, workforce reskilling, and stakeholder alignment for coal asset transformation. This expertise led to his appointment as Co-Chair of the B20 energy and climate task forces under the G20 Indonesia (2022) and G20 India (2023) presidencies.
