With a robust history of developing cutting-edge biomedical programs, strategic research infrastructures, and sustainable health initiatives, Dr. Sheikh’s leadership aligns seamlessly with Antares Ventures’ goals of supporting groundbreaking advancements in deep tech and sustainable energy.
As Dean of Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar (WCM-Q) since 2010, Dr. Sheikh initiated and implemented a comprehensive research infrastructure at WCM-Q featuring state-of-the-art laboratories specializing in genomics, proteomics, transcriptomics, and metabolomics. Dr. Sheikh led the transformation of WCM-Q into an influential institution contributing significantly to Qatar’s national research objectives and fostering international collaboration. His initiatives have propelled Doha into a prominent position within the global research community.
Founded the Institute for Population Health (IPH) in 2012, launching community-focused health promotion and disease prevention programs tailored to diverse populations.
Co-founded Precision Health Innovations and Education (PHIE) in 2016, underscoring a commitment to precision health and technology-driven education.
