As Dean of Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar (WCM-Q) since 2010, Dr. Sheikh initiated and implemented a comprehensive research infrastructure at WCM-Q featuring state-of-the-art laboratories specializing in genomics, proteomics, transcriptomics, and metabolomics. Dr. Sheikh led the transformation of WCM-Q into an influential institution contributing significantly to Qatar’s national research objectives and fostering international collaboration. His initiatives have propelled Doha into a prominent position within the global research community.
Founded the Institute for Population Health (IPH) in 2012, launching community-focused health promotion and disease prevention programs tailored to diverse populations.
