Data center decarbonisation

With data center investment surging across Southeast Asia, data centers are becoming a critical energy challenge. SEA currently accounts for 3% of global data centres but is expected to grow to be 10% by end of the decade. By 2030, global data center power demand is set to reach 4% of total electricity use, with AI workloads driving even greater consumption. Governments in SEA are pushing for greener infrastructure, and solutions like direct-to-chip cooling, renewable-powered facilities, and AI-driven optimization are emerging. We are exploring which decarbonization pathways could be both technically feasible and commercially scalable in this rapidly evolving landscape.
